Merry Christmas!

It seems like only yesterday we were beginning a new year and here we are again, starting over. I’ve already started planning for 2023, and it’s going to be very busy, although you might not be able to tell from my publishing schedule. I’ll talk about that more next time.

'Tis the Season

Meanwhile, I think I’m finally getting sated on Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. I’m looking forward to watching my two old standbys tonight: Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life. I won’t be watching Bruce Willis, though. LOL.

I miss the old days when television broadcast multiple Christmas Eve and Christmas Day worship services and masses. Even though I’m not Catholic, I love the pageantry and tradition of Midnight Mass from the Vatican. I also miss shows like Perry Como’s Christmas special. Entertainers weren’t afraid to bring their faith to the television screen back in the fifties and sixties.

Of course, there are actual live church services, and I’ll be going to one at my church later this afternoon. I love the candlelight service, but even with my cataracts removed, I no longer like driving at night. I’m undecided about going to church again tomorrow morning. I kind of like the idea of a lazy Sunday, but it seems wrong to skip church on Christmas.

If you don't live in Arizona...

I hope those of you who are digging out from the snow and facing below-freezing temperatures are safe and warm indoors. Fortunately, sunny Arizona missed the storm. Right now, it’s 63 degrees in Tucson. It’s supposed to be in the 70s the early part of this coming week. I love living here!
